Hi
No, I think this is the first question asked by you regarding this topic and it is interesting too. Thanks for contributing here with us.

YES!
Cocamidopropyl Betaine is such more prevalent these days than coco mea with Cocamidopropyl Betaine being a associated with irritation and allergic contact dermatitis, reactions that could be due to the ingredient itself or to impurities present in it.
Because it is derived from coconut it is considered an allergen.
Odor from the ingredient in hand soap for instance can infuse from the person's hands to food products.
We advised two clients to replace this type of handsoap, one did and the other got written up for it during an SQF audit - they have now found a better solution.

Hi Glenn,
Thank you for the reply. I see this ingredients almost everywhere in hand soap product, and it is difficult to find a replacement considering all the complaint from the employee regarding dry hand and irritated skin.
Thank you again!

Thanks for the thread question. I didn't realize Cocamidopropyl Betaine was derived from coconuts. For employees with dry skin and irritated skin, I usually recommend at the end of their shift to grab some cortisone cream from our first aid kit. From my experience this works a lot better than lotion. We buy the more expensive disposable gloves as well to help, but for our employees with sensitive skin, it doesn't completely help.
