Hi all, I have just realised that in the new position statement there is one point I have missed, is anybody able to help me with it as i have my BRC on Thursday ? How would you Action this ? Can anybody share any plans?

 

2. Product Safety and Quality Culture NEW REQUIREMENT Clause Requirements 1.1.12 The site’s senior management shall define and maintain a clear plan for the development and continuing improvement of a product safety and quality culture within the company. This shall include: • defined activities involving all sections of the company that have an impact on product safety and quality. As a minimum, these activities shall be designed around: • communication within the supply chain and within the company • training • feedback from employees • performance measurement on product safety and quality related activities • an action plan indicating how the activities will be undertaken and measured, and the intended timescales • a review of the effectiveness of completed activities.

This started in the Food standard, and is being rolled out to the other BRC standards over time. A good few threads already going on this as it's been in Food since Issue 8 came out - have a look at these as a starter:

I have managed to create the plan but I'm not sure if i need to add anything else, would you mind looking on it and let me know your thoughts?

Food safety culture questionnaire TP27a will be issued annually for all employees, including management team to measure the food safety culture . The results of this survey will be analysed by the senior management team -the weaknesses it highlighted and a set of actions for improvement and it will be communicated to all staff on the sales meeting with the improvement plan.

 

 

The below activities will be in place to ensure high level of food safety culture is in place:

 

• a staff survey focusing on values and culture

• annual staff reviews (one-to-ones)

• feedback mechanisms (e.g. staff concerns)

• training review and staff development

• teamwork (e.g. staff involvement in setting product safety objectives)

• effective communication strategies such as meetings, group emails

• activities to demonstrably maintain product safety standards
