Hi all,

We are building a state-off-the-art completely new plant.

I am preparing for our FSSC Phase 1 audit, which will focus a full day on documentation.
The Phase 1 audit will take place 3-4 weeks before we actually start producing. And after about three months of production will will do our Phase 2 audit of the initial certification.

I am wondering what your experiences are with these Phase 1 audits.
Does the entire handbook needs to be set in stone. Or will an auditor also be ok with having (advanced) concepts of our documents.

I would prefer to show him advanced ''work-in-progress'' documents which show that we have already thought through most of our process and risks. So I would like to postpone making all documents official just yet. We will inevitable change things once we actually start producing.

You can probably get away with marking them as drafts during your document audit, but they're likely to mention those documents should be live and active in your document register before you actually begin producing.  If changes need to be made once you actually start, your manual should detail how to make the changes to revised programs.
