Hi! We are a U.S. based dietary supplement contract manufacturer, and we have an EU Plant Number for PP-Processing Plant, specifically for Bovinae. Do we need to renew our plant number at any time? The company got their number before I was hired but that was back in 2022, so I am unsure if we need to renew it? If so, how do we go about it, I couldn't find much help online.

Hello,

To be able to export to the EU, you must maintain your establishment on the corresponding EU list.

The lists of establishments for export are prepared by the Competent Authority of the Third Country, and Brussels accepts them.

The authorization does not have a fixed validity period.

The United States periodically sends the European Commission an update of the lists, with establishments added and removed.

If you work with beef products, I assume the FSIS is the US government agency that supervises your company and includes it on the corresponding list for export to the EU.

I understand that as long as you meet the food safety requirements to operate in the United States, you will remain on the list of US exporters to the EU.
