We currently do not have metal detectors, we are SALSA approved and as far as I am aware it has never been an issue based on our process.
It's predominantly hand mixed but in the last year have purchased a large paddle mixer that I think makes 50 kg plus.
We do not use knives but do use scissors and metal spoons, of which are not likely to damage and cause contamination which is what our HACCP is based on and have checks in place. We have a history of virtually no metal complaints or finds. We sell to wholesalers, cafes & Schools.
So my question is would we face issues when we do go for BRC if we do not have MD in place?
