Hi all,

I'm preparing for my first BRC audit at the current site and there is a big gap as it doesn't look like we have proper written agreements with most of our service providers. Would creating a document with our expectations for the service signed by both parties suffice to be compliant with this clause?

thanks

The clause allows for "contracts or formal agreements" so something which is signed by both parties should suffice.  Although I'd also look to the previous clause about your requirements for suppliers and make sure you include those as appropriate into the document you sign.

It's not specified within the standard but I'd be keen to ensure they also had an appropriate level of liability insurance as well in case they did cause a major issue and for things like that I'd encourage that you do get your procurement team to put some contracts in place.
