We have a an unannounced audit for our boysenberry production. There are 2 packhouses under the same FSMS, due to a cold snap and the fruit maturing later, one packhouse will most likely be not operating when the auditor arrives. The season only lasts 3 weeks and it's over the Christmas period so if they come back to visit mid-Jan neither packhouse will be operating.

They will however be able to see one operating, and the other will be ready to go, all records available i.e. pest records, pre-season cleaning, the packhouse will be in a state of readiness for production apart from training records for some staff members as they wouldn't have started yet.

Will this be acceptable?

Yes, you should contact your CB. Also, this information should have been mentioned to the CB in the unannounced registration form
