Hi Folks,

I've been working in a food manufacturing company for 3 years as a food safety specialist. I have conducted everything a manager would do, from audits, complaints, ...

Now, I got an offer from a packaging company that produces paper bags for food industry as a QA manager and they are on the way of getting certification for IFS/ PACsecure. Do you think it's a good move and is this standard GFSI certified at all? what are the main differences from FSSC22000 ( that I have implemented before) ?

thank you in advance for your advises.

SM

international Feature Standards (IFS) is very much one of the schemes under the GFSI umbrella.. The PACsecure (a part of iFS) code is for packaging.

Hello Shooki, I don't have an answer (GLenn already answered anyway) but wanted to say CONGRATS! It sounds like you're already doing the work without the title, so a move up is always good!

Ridiculous as it sounds, you'll probably get a good sense of the differences using an AI to compare and contrast making food under FSSC22000 vs making packaging under IFS PACsecure.  It is a GFSI recognized scheme, and my feeling about of the differences in food vs packaging compliance make me yearn for a job doing food grade packaging instead of fresh cut fruits and veg...
