Debby Newslow, a recognized food safety expert and winner of the prestigious 2013 NSF International Leadership Award for Training, has just released a new book: Food Safety Management Programs: Applications, Best Practices and Compliance.

Debby Newslow, President and Executive Director, D. L. Newslow & Associates

Debby Newslow is the President and Executive Director of D. L. Newslow & Associates, Inc., a leading Food Safety Management consulting organization, and a frequent speaker and author on food safety and auditing issues. After earning her degree in Food Science & Technology from the University of Florida, Debby worked in Quality Control, Research & Development and Corporate Auditor positions for T. G. Lee Foods and the Minute Maid Division of the Coca Cola Company.

Debby is an IRCA Lead Auditor (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000) performing audits primarily with Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) for the past 17 years. Along with being the author of published articles in many different trade journals – including Food Safety Tech, where she is currently on the advisory board – Debby also authored The ISO 9000 Quality System: Applications in Food and Technology, released by John Wiley & Sons Publishing and a HACCP-based chapter included in John Wiley & Sons release of the Food Safety Compendium. Debby’s text on understanding FSSC and other food safety standards is scheduled for a 2013 release.

Debby’s areas of expertise include FSSC, ISO, HACCP, SQF, BRC, GMP, Food Hygiene, Crisis Management, and other related systems/processes/HACCP prerequisite programs. Her experience includes more than 200 companies including Coca Cola, Reckitt Benckiser, Uncle Ben’s Rice, Mars Pet Food, Mars, Inc., Corn Products, Inc., Hiram Walker, Campbell’s Soup, Tropicana, Calico Cottage, Whitlock Packaging, Pepperidge Farm, Wixon and Bacardi. When not assisting companies with development/maintenance activities, she is teaching workshops based on these topics.
