Event Description

Third Annual Food Safety Exchange Educational Conference Is Scheduled for June 17-18, 2014 in Philadelphia

The third annual Food Safety Exchange sponsored by METTLER TOLEDO will take place on June 171h and 18th, 2014 at the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue hotel in Philadelphia, PA. This one and a half day educational conference will once again bring together professionals in the food industry, including manu-facturers, processors, retailers, standards owners, auditors, consultants, trade organizations and other practitioners, to network with fellow professionals and learn from industry experts more about the current food safety regulatory envi-ronment. Past participants have been enthusiastic about both the knowledge they gained and the connections they were able to make with colleagues.

Following registration on June 17, Victor Muliyil, Food Technical Manager for North America for SGS, will open the conference with the Keynote address, ”Food Safety Modernization Act: Understanding the Challenges and Achieving Compliance.” Subsequent presentations on Day One will include “IFS PAC Se-cure” by George Ganser of IFS, “FSSC 22000 and Its Role in the Global Market” by Jacqueline Southee of FSSC 22000, “Food Safety Supply Chain Manage-ment” by Jane Griffith of ASI, and “GFSI Certification as a Strategic Business Tool” by John Kukoly of BRC.

Day One will end with an update on SQF by a speaker to be announced, and a networking reception. Day Two includes presentations on “Risk Assessment, Technical Team Leadership and GFSI Benchmarking” by Susan Ranck of Ranck & Associates LLC and “Risk Management Under FSMA” by John Shapiro of Freeborn & Peters. The conference will close with a keynote address by Katie Christ of FONA International, Inc. on “Vendor Management & Approved Supplier Program: Harnessing the Power of People to Get the Job Done.”

Those interested in attending the Food Safety Exchange can register at the con-ference web site––www.foodsafetyexchange.com––where they can also see the agenda and speaker information. The event will also feature a display area where attendees can meet with food safety products and services providers. Companies interested in a display table or a sponsorship opportunity, please email pi.marketing@mt.com and METTLER TOLEDO will contact you.

The Food Safety Exchange $100 attendee registration fee includes access to all activities and presentations, breakfast, lunch, and a networking reception and dinner on day one and breakfast on day two. It also includes snacks for networking breaks both days and post-event access to all the presentations, which will be posted on the event web site.
