Dear Stephie,
IMO, the ISO 22000 would cover all of the basic need about PRP (GMP and SSOP) and
HACCP. If your PRP is good, then design the
HACCP. If your
HACCP is good, then design the ISO 22k certification. As for the ISO 9001, its only for Quality Management System. The ISO 22k itself has clauses that similar with 9001, even some people says that ISO 22k is a "bridge" between ISO 9001 and
HACCP. So I think you dont have to had all of those certification, ISO 22k would covers all. This is one of bright side from ISO 22k:).
But I can understand that some company (on previous times) always took the path from the basic. They certify the GMP frirst, then the
HACCP, then ISO 9001. Then after ISO 22k announced in 2005, they willing to have it. But since it cost too much, usually they only extend the 9001 and 22k certification.
Another question from me, does anyone ever hear a company nullify it's 9001 certification after they get the ISO 22k?
Regards,
Arya
