Dear All,

I am working in an Inflight Catering Industry, and we are in the process of implementing ISO 22000. Normally i have seen people putting fire, flood, earthquake and other natural calamities , and even terrorisim in emergency prepardness. Its ok with me.
But my question is if there is any of these calamities what would you protect the most, the food or the life.

Ok if a fire is observed in the kitchen we will raise an alarm, inform security & stuff, but what happens to the food. basically the food is discarded right?, then why such an emphasis in ISO 22000, why cant it be a a lone part of OSHAS.

Ok few months back there was terrorist attack in Taj, what all of us were concered was the safety of lives not the food.

During a training program, my mentor had happened to see the emergency response we had prepared, and he told it was good, but needs to be more food specific. Yes i do agree but how. He even mentioned that we need to address terrorisim inculsive of Bio terrorisim, but how?

Can anyone help me in these, How & Why?

Regards,
Dennis

An interesting area for discussion. Of course protecting life and limb comes before the fondue, but surely not every emergency is at this level. What did your plan look like? Maybe you cold post it here for discussion.

Anyway welcome to the forums Dennis - have you ever seen this resource?
