Hello Everybody,

Can anybody please help me in how exactly to implement a products Identification procedure? Is it same as what we prepare for products specifications or not?

Actually I've prepared one but I am not sure if it is the right one.

Please advise.

Regards,
Laila

Hi,

Actually it is required by the external auditor who visited our company few weeks ago.

What I prepared is same as the specification procedure because I've never heard of Products Identification procedure.

Also, I don't think it is same as traceability procedure, but not sure.

Dear Laila,

My guess is that you hv already understood correctly. I find the inclusion of the word "procedure" particularly confusing.

Personally, I would simply phone the auditor and seek clarification if that is possible since you are paying them for their time and that includes being intellligible.

If you want any opinions on yr "product specification" format, Cazx's suggestion is the quickest way.

IMO... The procedure is to identify Product.. I mean, that is same with procedure to develop your product.. IMEX in that procedure contain how we state the product specification for example to say that our product contain ± 3 % moisture, we did some trial and analysis the data using statistical tools....

The other way, In chemical product, the producer always make MSDS (Material safety data sheet) for they products.. to make MSDS, that have international standard procedure ...

so.. IMO you have to decide what is the data that you put in the product identification ?.. and after that you can choose make procedure, like product development procedure, or make MSDS, like chemical producer did.....
