Hi all,

I'm new to this so not 100% sure what kind of response to expect - if any!

I'm the Deputy QC & Hygiene Manager at a flexible packaging company, we have recently had our yearly BRc audit. The auditor has mentioned that we now require a form of "breakdown" to the Cleaning schedule sheets that we use at the moment. Incorperated in this sheet must be an area/frequancy / tools used / etc detail sheet.

Wondering if anyone out there has any documents / templates that are clear & simple to use?

These are helpful (and the uplaoding of was good), Not sure if i was clear enough as i'm mainly looking for data type documents to run alongside the Cleaning Schedules or a breakdown of "tools" used for cleaning i.e cleaning substances used etc.
Think these would be kept at the side of the schedules for visual evidedence for training & auditing purposes?

Dear JGH,

Actually I thought Rosemary’s excel quite reasonable but the details will somewhat vary depending on yr particular situation. It might help if you (briefly) detailed yr current procedure, I imagine you are not using many wet products which should surely reduce the effort required.

I think the primarily “wet” layout ( not for warehouse) in the link below ( see section VII, Fig4) plus associated discussion is fairly comprehensive except, as indicated by Rosemary, it is necessary to hv a "who" column somewhere. The overall document is signed off similar to Rosemary again either by the individual or team leader (or both) if multi-group. Additionally, I would list any chemicals used 1….X and xreference them in the chemicals column of Fig4. A complete chemicals list could then be presented on another excel sheet (with a column for preparation) and a further xreference to a list of appropriate material data sheets if necessary (although I personally just bundle these up separately so the auditor can pick through them as he wishes, gives him something to do ). Some people put the chemicals mixing etc into a SOP for cleaning, the link below mentions this kind of requirement in text below fig. 4., alternatively, if you can easily shorten it, some put info. into excel directly, but you probably still need an SOP anyway (eg training).

Thank you Charles, the "Sanitation Master Schedule" was exactly what i was looking for. It has given me an idea/guideline of what is required to run besides the Cleaning Shedules.

Find the attached file if it will help you,,,,,, just one reminder if you are gearing up for ISO certification then it should be ISO 9001:2008 since they are only giving until December 2009 for all those who are still in ISO 9001:2002 for transition. See news below.

What's new in ISO 9001:2008?

The new edition of ISO 9001 is an amendment and not a revision; in other words, the changes are very small. They are broadly as follows:

- the user-feedback survey on ISO 9001:2000 revealed that there were some ambiguities and some points needing clarification. These have been tidied up, along with clarification inareas that were previously too open to interpretation.

- the new edition has improved compatibility with ISO 14001 for those wishing to integrate their ISO 14001 certification with their ISO 9001 certification.

ISO 9001:2008 - What it means to certified organizations

For certified organizations, the transition period runs from 14 November 2008 to 31 December 2009. All organizations need to be compliant with ISO 9001:2008 by the end of 2009 to retain their certification. BSI's clients will be audited against the new edition of the standard at their next continuing assessment or re-certification visit.

Antony Barrett, product marketing manager responsible for ISO 9001 at BSI Management Systems UK, comments: "We don't see anyone having any problems in achieving the 2008 edition of the standard." Client managers will work with clients to manage the process.

Never mind the attachment are you sure this reply is in the right place. The original question is about BRC cleaning schedules and the answer above appears to be related to ISO 9001:2008.
