Greetings Viewers,

Is ISO 22000 manual is intent? (which includes FSMS Quality & Clause 7 HACCP), Does it require to keep & maintain? What do you say?

Previously i had a big manual but later i obsolete & reduced the paper work but maintaining hard & soft copies of:

- CCP decision tree,
- flow diagrams with re-work
- HACCP & OPRP plans
- HACCP identification and study
- Procedures
- Forms
- Records
- MRM, Internal audit, PRP & CCP, etc. (whatever mentioned in procedures).

Please share your best experiences in related to above concern.

Hi!

Would you please clarify a little bit your question? I´m not getting right your point.

Thanks for the question,

My question is ISO 22000:2005 organization manual is intent?

Is ISO 22000:2005 says the organization should maintain their own manual?

Without manual i have well written policies and procedures, forms and records, HACCP study, flow-diagrams, HACCP & OPRP plans, decision tree, etc. But not all in one manual, it has separate document number and own identification names.

Hope the question is more clear now!

No, ISO 22000 doesn´t require a manual, but there are a lot of records that need to be mantained, like the ones you mention. I think some information is not required to be in a particular document, so the manual would be a good place to show it.

We also work it like you do, the manual has its own number and makes reference to other documents that integrates all records needed for the system.

Regards,

FSSM

Many thanks,

I just want to confirm with professionals that

'ISO 22000 doesn't require a manual, but there are a lot of records that need to be mantained, like the ones you mention.'

Most management systems are structured:

Manual > Procedures > Records

With perhaps policies in the manual and possibly more detailed work instructions as well as procedures. You don't have to do it this way but it is a proven method.

Greetings Simon,

I agreed most management systems are structured they keep manuals -includes organizational chart also, its easy for auditors and other interested parties to look/audit, they start with manual linked with procedures and forms and they check records accordingly.

Food safety policy and other policies are hang everywhere in the premises.

At the end of the day it is up to you Abdul, so long as you say what you do and do what you say and meet all of the requirements in theory and practice.
