Hi all,

I have a small but may be silly question. One of our new customer is asking us a food safety risk assessment and also asking to include review of our suppliers traceability program and food safety program.

My question is,

We have HACCP program in place. Can i use it as a food safety risk assesment?

We have vendor approval program in which we review vendors traceability program. Vendor approval program is a pre requisite program in HACCCP. Please guide me do i need to do something else? or i can show him our HACCP plan and that will work.

Regards
Dave

Hi Dhaval,

If you have a robust vendor approval program which demonstrates risk assesments and tracebaility then I do not see any reason why you can't use this to show to your new customer.

If the customer is not happy then ask them for further clarification.

Regards

Ajay

Yes HACCP is the most widely recognised method of food safety risk assessment
