Dear all,

here's one from let field...

Fire extinguishers in the high riask area...isit acceptable for us to use Fire hoods, rather than fire boxes. The reason being the boxes are a repository for all kinds of stuff (incuding tippex grrrr), whereas the hoods would not allow this. Also the doors of the boxes invariably get broken, and stay broken for a long long time.

Thoughts please

I'm entitled to my opinion, even a stopped clock is right twice a day

Not sure what a fire hood or a fire box is...all I can say is that anything that reduces the opportunity for personal items and potential contaminants is great...provided it does not introduce other problems or contaminants. So you have a fire hood in one hand and a fire box in the other, which is worse?
