For implementation of HACCP we have to spend substantial funds to match the requirements of HACCP and GMP.
however, our customers demand that HACCP certified first and then repair the building.
how do you think? whether we will qualify for certification with the factory building that is not appropriate with HACCP standards :helpplease::doh:

Thanks
Agus

Dear agmulyana,

What kind of product do you produce?
Have you been audited before since you know that your factory building didn't comply HACCP Standards?

Regards,
Hadi

To Agus:

Please consider the below:

- When auditing HACCP, the auditor will also check for the GMP aspects as they are the 'foundation' (pre-requisite) for HACCP system. If you wait until the actual external audit, the auditor may raise minor or major CAR (depend on the seriousness of the condition) and you still need to take action to close the CAR before certification is granted.

- If the CAR takes months to close out (e.g. major renovation on building etc), then you have to wait for some time before you get your certificate (but most of the time they will set a timeframe for you to do so). Sometimes, the CB may need to re-visit your plant to close the CAR and this incurs cost again.

Yong

Dear Mr Hadi..

Dear Agus,

Can you desribe / explain more about the factory building which you think didn't comply with HACCP Standards? The big problem is handling the dust and machine layout, because factory layout not consider planning for HACCP system.

Btw, have you been audited by CB before? Not Yet... But we always audited by our customer, and a lot complaint specially for food industry.

Hadi

Dear Agus,

Since I don't have any experience in printing and packaging industry, I wan to ask another question :
1. Is there any cleaning schedule ?
2. Why the machine layout become the problem ?

IMO, you can ask CB to check your factory and give you a full details about your problem if you want to have HACCP certificate.

Hadi

To Agus:

I am very sorry that I am not familiar with the printing industry but generally when comes to cGMP, we will refer to Code of Federal Regulations Title 21.

I hope this will give you some ideas on what to do next.
