Can any one tell me what Clause 3.6.4 means when it says "The company shall seek formal agreement of specifications with relevant parties". Here is the deal. I have a lot of customer that are SQF or working towards SQF and they have me send them our spec, then they copy all the information on to their company receiving spec and send it back to me so sign and date. I don't see anywhere in BRC where I need to do that, except for this clause I'm not sure about. Is there anything special I need to have our supplier or me do when we receive a spec. Do I need to have them sign it. At this time I just make sure they are up to date. The more information I can get the better. Thanks.

Dear S-Maddux,

Specifications need to be agreed one way or another.

I do not understand why your customers send back your specification to sign and date. I am sure there is a date and probably also a signature on your original specification. Then again, i am not into SQF.

Agreement of specifications can be done by:
- Yyou establish a raw material specification and let the supplier agree;
- The supplier send his specification and you agree with it. For exampl by putting a signature and date on it, when you approve it.
- The specifications is documented in a database and the customer send you an approval of your spec.
- Email notifications of agreement to specification or adapted specification.
- etc.

Please note: this requirement is also for finished products and customer specifications
