Version 5 stated that we had to work against standard ISO 17025 - this is no longer mentioned. Does this mean that we no longer have to do this? Eg. I can shorten our labmanual so only things not mentioned in our BRC-manual is mentioned in there. And, offcourse, based on riskassesment we may do confirmation of Coli Vtec?

For Issue 6 they have enlarged the whole Product Testing section, and Laboratory Testing is within 5.5.2.

Specifically 5.5.2.3 still requires that for analyses critical to product safety or legality, the laboratory shall be either be accredited to or work in accordance with the requirements of ISO17025.

Still a requirement in version 6 as far as I can see! Pathogen testing is covered under 5.5.2.1 so you'd have to have full segregation i.e. separate buildings normally, separate drains etc.

Thanks both of you - obviously I have "forgotten" this chapter
We will send the samples to external lab as we do now
