Well what an opening ceremony. To be honest I've not been that excited about the Olympics, but wow that was an amazing piece of theatre last night. Danny Boyle the architect of the opening ceremony is from my home town. Great job Danny!

First half awesome, 2nd half rather baffling and, therefore, monotonous.
Not too sure about the laudation (?) of Fire albeit visually "striking"?
Limited firework display, no big Bangers.
But the first half was worth the watching, and Mr Bean.

Why is it the rest of the world finds Mr Bean hilarious?
I loved it. I understand completely there was quite a lot that other people wouldn't 'get'. I saw masses of fireworks (did you know some shown on the Chinese feed were CGI?)
The highlights - The Queen and James Bond, they actually got THE QUEEN to do a comedy sketch (at least in part) and the cauldron. So beautiful and the fact each country gets to take away part of it at the end, being lit by the next generation. It made me cry!
