We are seeking to become SQF certified and was looking for some advise on a few things. We use an outside storage facility to store frozen raw and finished products. Would this be considered a multi site program for module 16 or would it fall under another module?

Thanks,
Brent

That is an excellent question and I can't say I have the best answer for you. However, I asked someone I know that has been in a similar situation and they told me that they didn't need Module 16 because they set them up as a contract service provider. The warehouse they used was inspected regularly and was not part of their SQF scope/certification other than they were set up in that aspect.

If you do not get an answer you are sure you can trust you can always talk to your CB about it I would guess.

It depends Brent -- you say "outside"... where exactly, as in outside, next to your main facility or outside and across town. Is this facility owned by your company, etc. If you store your finished product there prior to shipping (assuming storage and shipping are in the same location) and want/need to include this in your scope of certification you will need to add Module 16 on top of the others that you have. The questions would first need to be answered however.

Sorry should've been more descriptive. The storage facility is a county over and we don't own them. Its a service we pay for, but do ship finished product from this facility.

Thanks,
Brent

In that case there is no reason for you to have the additional module.
