The company I work for is working on creating a HACCP plan to be used for the transportation of our raw products that go to processing plants for further processing. Our products are for the most part harvested, then they go through a grading system, are then cooled to the correct shipping temperature and then are shipped to companies who do further processing of the products.

I am lookng for cost effective sanitation systems that companies have used (that don't cost millions of dollars) that meet FDA requirements. Looking for a sanitation system that would sanitize reefer trailers in a timely manner,

Also looking for transportation companies who currently have HACCP plans put into place. I am looking to see plan examples and then create our own plan.

In addition wondering if someone has a "driver education" handbook that they would be willing to share in regards to how drivers should properly handle produce loads and the consequences if loads aren't handled in a correct manner?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Dear SandyML,

Yr query is quite wide scope.
The feedback may be more relevant if you add a little more info., eg

Typical products ?
Any particular standard intended for certification ?

Kind Regards,

Our products are cucumbers, peppers and carrots. Cucumbers and peppers are loaded in bins and carrots are loaded on the floor of the trailer. Our products all go to further processing and are made into pickles, put into soups and used in other products.

As far as certification goes, we are researching to see if our company will be exempt as our products go for further processing, but if we aren't exempt, we will be looking to get TransCert certification and have all of our trailers sanitized prior to loading.
