Hello all,

We use an alternate storage facility to store frozen product. We also use this same facility to ship our products out.  What are the requirements?  Is there a list of docuements  that we need to have on file in order to comply.  Risk Assesment?

What are your thoughts?

Thank you,

My thoughts - if the "alternate" facility is under your ownership and is located away from your property then that will be a separate certification. If however it is a contracted facility then you should take a look at the section of the SQF Code that related to contract services. If your certification is customer driven you may want to check with your customer and ask them if they want your DC certified as well and also check with the DC to see if they are already GFSI certified.  If the facility is on your property/attached to your building you'll need to add another FSC for it.
