Hi All,
I need some guidance on being a Costco Supplier.

Hi, we are currently supplying Costco (food).
One of our factories is BRC, the other one on the other is not (banana chips) -- we only undergo 2nd party audit (Costco Food Safety and GMP) thru SGS.
They no longer accept our HACCP Certificate though we implement food safety (just not certified).
hope these help.

Thanks Teody and Gunapathi.
I have been through this document and something is not very clear to me. That's why I put the question here. Anyone else has similar experience or knowledge here ?
Please guide.

I have worked with two different companies both supplying essentially the same product. Neither was GFSI certified, but one was working towards it and the other eventually became certified. Surprisingly, though the products were the same the criteria set by Costco was very different for each company. The only difference was one company had better name recognition than the other. The bigger name had easier requirements as I believe the assumption was we knew what we were doing and doing it.

The reason we became GFSI (SQF) certified was at Costco's request. We had other customers that would have 'liked' us to move in that direction, but it was Costco and Wal-Mart that has us make the leap.

GFSI (SQF) certified
Dear Setanta,
Maybe it will soon be accepted as "common usage" but AFAIK the only legitimate statement is "SQF certified".

We have recently became a Costco supplier, oct 2013. We were required to have some type of certification that they needed to review and also have the Costco addendums met to become a supplier. It was a long process, well over a year, from application to get our vendor number and start shipping. From my experience I would say that it is definitely a requirement to be certified.

If you google azzule costco food safety requirements you will find not only their requirements but contact information. I would suggest calling, on their documents they state that they can accept other certification and that it is a case by case situation/approval.
Good luck!

Hi! Does anyone have a Costco Audit Checklist and Costco Prerequisites?
Your reply is most appreciated. Thank you!

I have the Costco Food Safety Audit Expectations manual.
It is however proprietary and can't be distributed without express permission from Costco.
Was there something specific that you were looking for?

I've got one around somewhere - but contact your CB who would be doing the audit. They should be able to supply the Costco gmp audit checklist.
I would strongly suggest doing the "Costco Addendum" along with your GFSI-scheme audit if you can. The strange thing is the addendum with gfsi audit is different than the costco gmp audit: The gmp checklist has requirements other than those found in the gfsi schemes or the addendum.

For what roxanjasareno is looking for, the Costco Food Safety Requirements is too generic and isn't going to work.
