I am working in a packaging plant, our products are frozen fruits. Now we are going to update our SQF Level 2 to level 3. Do we need to add Best Before Date of products into our Quality Plan? Our SQF code is 7.2 system.

Thanks

Hello there,

Each unit that is packaged for consumption must have a traceability code and a date of conditional use.

Use by date and best before dates will be determined by the nature of your product - is it cooked or uncooked? and must be accompanied by your micro shelf life validation.

Thank for help. Our products are uncooked. IQF fruits. Our product shelf life are 24 months. We put Julia Date and Best Before Date and time on the bags.

What else we should consider?
