[SQF1188]

Can anyone strongly recommend or even not recommend a certification body for SQF Certification Level 2 for food packaging materials? Been shopping around and am not really seeing too much of a difference but was told to keep away from some of the lower priced CBs that haven't necessarily established themselves or are not known for excellent auditing practices. Just looking for any recommendations or avoidance.

Think it all comes down to the auditor.  I have had audits with Silliker, Steritech, and SGS.  All were good but were very different audits.  I have seen systems certified by several NSF auditors that did not meet the standard or come close, based on what I personally seen I would question an NSF audit.

We suggest one CB for our SQF clients.  The auditors are professional, well informed and the company is competitive  - overall very professional.

We have used Steritech for the past 4 years and both auditors used were very professional and thorough.

I have used NSF solely for the SQF audits I've been involved in and I liked their level of communication between our facility, the subcontractor auditors, and SQFI when necessary. That said, they subcontract most auditors so you might get set with an easy-going department of ag retiree or you might get set with a former ISO auditor. You never really know.
