My vote of irritation has to go to the little stickers attached to apples, and other hard fruits. Neil

How about those foil seals on milk cartons with the plastic hinged pourer?
When incorrectly positioned underneath the lid, they are impossible to tear off, thus having to resort to cutting a hole in the top of them to get the milk out!
And then there's the easy open stitched tops on bags of cat/dog food etc, which require either a masters degree in macrame, or a pair of scissors to go in on every stitch...................................................

recently I've had serious difficulties with bags of filter coffee. Oh yes, they SAY it's re-sealable, but by the time you've burst the bag open in frustration and spilt half the contents on the kitchen floor, the foil/plastic is so much in shreds that there's no possible way of finding a reasonable area to stick the 'resealable' tab to.

Don't get me started on opening dishwasher powder.

On the contrary, I find them very useful and use them as part of a ranked reward or bribery system for the children e.g.

Good behaviour = apple sticker
Very good behaviour = mango sticker
Excellent behaviour = kiwi fruit sticker

The only snag is keeping control of my extremely high sticker inventory.
