Hello,
In BRC Issue 6 the position statement for section 4.10.3 Metal Detection allowed the use of stop belt metal detection systems that did not have an automatic reject of the product along as other controls were in place. However, in Issue 7, I do not see this allowance. Instead, in point 4.10.3.2, it says that stop belt systems are only allowed when the product cannot be automatically ejected for example large packs.
We do not have an automatic ejection system. Mostly we pass whole packs of product passing under the detector (minimum 300 grams) which are to large for an air reject system. Sometimes we pass individually-wrapped product but this is less often. However, we do pass each product pack one-at-a-time and the belt stops immediately so we know exactly which pack has triggered the alarm.
Is this adequate for BRC 7?
Thanks,
Debbie
