We have a dilemma for personnel safety and product safety.

Personnel safety says Helmet is must in plant. Product safety says head cap is must.

Ultimately users are suffering with both.

Any comments please

This is a common thing. The hard hat can be worn over the hairnet - replace hairnets frequently, have an inspection and cleaning program for the hard hats, replace them as necessary and you should be OK.

Hard hats or bump caps, totaly difrent pieces of equipment, bump caps usualy can be worn over a harinet no problems.

If system says hairnets must be worn for task and for H&S bump caps need to be worn, then logically both must be worn for task and where personell suffer side affects from these condictions, a risk assessment must be conducted for H&S to consider those vulnerable employees and such copntrols may be that only certain peopel who are not affected can do the task.
