[Chathuranaga Kariyawasam]

I have a great desire to fallow a ISO 22000 lead auditor training at SGS, Now I am a Bachelor of science  in food science,working in food manufacturing company,but i haven't any previous auditor training, So can i become a lead auditor or is it hard to fallow it without the previous auditor training?

Hi Mr.Chathuranaga,

Before going to lead auditor training, it is better to take haccp training first. Or if you have years of experience in food industry it would be easy to follow.

Ideally you should have a basic audit qualification and be an experienced auditor.

Hello Chathuranaga Kariyawasam,

                      Before going for IRCA approved ISO 22000 lead auditor course, you have to find a lead auditor under whom you can get training ,as training is mandatory to become lead auditor.

Also you have to get yourself acquainted  with HACCP and ISO 19011 (Guidelines for auditing management systems ) and  ISO/TS 22004 Food safety management systems —
Guidance on the application of ISO 22000:2005 andISO/TS 22003:2013Food safety management systems — Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of food safety management systems.Also go through the topics of ISO 22000 and auditing on this website/forum.
