Hi everybody,

I'm developing and implanting a BRC packaging for printed film and I am focus on internal audits at the moment. I' m so lost with the risks analysis for internal audits.

The standard says you have to establish the frecuency of the audits in relations with risks and previos audit performance but what happen if it´s your first time??

I've tried to do it thinking only in risks and I,ll send you the result asking for an opinion

What do you thinK? Is that enough??

Sorry but it is in Spanish, If somebody could help, I so grateful.

Thanks in advance

Miriam

Hi Miriam,

Since it is your first time, it's best to break the standard down into manageable segments that cover the points of the standard. You might find that you want to link your raw materials with your supplier approval process - whatever works.

Having done that, it's easier to assess the risk for each segment.

Carry out each audit and then run the risk assessment again. It's easy to miss things out, so the audit feedback will input into the risk assessment.

You'll probably find that the real answer is to audit each segment annually, but there may be segments that require a higher frequency.

Have fun!

Hola Miriam,

Your document looks pretty good to begin with.

I would add one more category to your risk chart and No. 3 Quarterly review 4 times a year.

If the risk is critical because failure process category No. 4 would have to undergo review, verification and validation.

I hope this helps.

Rule of thumb just to get you started.

All sections of the standard once per year, fundamentals twice per year.

As you go along doing Internal audits you may find areas which give you more non-conformances than others, in which case, amend your risk assessment to show you are visiting this section more often.

hi All,

I have added an approx. English translation of excel in Post No.1

If translation correct, the score limits for No. of incidents seem rather "restrictive".

Frequency Logic seems difficult to apply for a first-time auditee ?.

Thank you everybody for your help. I'm so grateful

Maybe as Charles says is difficult to apply for a first time audit but I'm thinking about the future and finally in my opinion the company have to revise the risk every year in management review. What do you think???

Regards

Miriam

Hi Miriam,

A typical solution (in English) to my comment is to replace "Frequency" by more vague terminologies such as  "Likelihood of Occurrence" or "Probability".

Maybe "Frequency" is the usual term in Spanish texts for all the above.

Nitpicking really. :sofa_bricks:
