Hello,

We are being requested by many of our customers to provide a FSMA Statement.  As a manufacturer of rigid plastic containers that are approved for direct food contact, do we fall under the requirement to provide a FSMA Statement?  We do not manufacture food items, only packaging and containers.

Thanks,

Daphne Behrmann

If you do not have to register with the FDA, then you most likely do not fall under FSMA compliance, but you will certainly be receiving many more requests by customers for information about your facility and the safety of your products.

While you do not fall directly into FDA; your products are in direct food contact.

That being said, it will become standard part of Supplier Verification activities to request some sort of certification from you

This certification/statement will be used by your clients to justify the safety of their products based on using only safe/certified suppliers
