Hello. I’m writing on the issue of air-drying/dehydrating RAW foodstuffs, and would be grateful for expert advice. The taste of the dried food doesn’t matter. I’m wondering if it’s safe to finely chop or blend various vegetables and fruit, and mix them with minced/ground beef (or another meat), then mix in some puffed/popped sorghum and make thin patties or jerky strips from this, drying them at the temperature recommended for meat (165 degrees) for some hours? Would it bind together as I wish, or would I need to add something? Then I’d rehydrate it in some water and feed them to my dog, if safe, as a meal, not as a hard ‘treat’. Safe, or not? It would be a packed lunch for my dog, one that can be rehydrated. Best way to mix in the vegetables and fruit: chopped, or pureed? Thank you, Stephen.
