Hi

how do you handle bandages on employee faces? Our policy for bandages are that they are covered with a glove, but if on a face- do you have them wear a covering on the face over the bandage, like a beard net or a balaclava? We have metal detectable bandages, but the issue would be if the bandage falls off and they don't notice.

thanks!

I wouldn't make an issue of this one. Just ask the employee and supervisor to be aware of the bandage. I would think this is a one off occurrence and not worth further management. Although it's larger, for me it is the same as stones in a pair of glasses, you can't really enforce your employees to spend $$$ on such a small risk. If you've asked the employee to wear the metal detectable company band aid, that should be sufficient---particularly if it's bright blue!

This would be documented on the Pre-Production Inspection report/employee and supervisor would be responsible to keep track of the bandage and as Glenn mentioned, a full face hairnet would be required.
