Hi All,

We're going for SQF at the end of this year... Is there any standard against using aluminum for the frame of a packaging conveyor belt?  The equipment will only transfer containers after they have been sealed and the belt itself is food grade.  Any concerns with using aluminum?  I know it won't last as long, etc. but cost is an issue right now so just want to make sure it's not against any standard (SQF, FDA, etc).  Thanks!

Nope, your good

Non food contact equipment just has to be capable of repeated cleaning and stay sanitary

I will add, galvanized might be cheaper and stronger...

Don't remember seeing one of those in a long long time, however there is no restrictive on this for SQF.
