hello,

looking for the best way to test feed product (for cats, dogs and fish) for butylated hydroxyanisole BHA.

Looked at Elisa and couldn't find any kits for that

can anyone send me some info for that or let me know a lab that would be the best to have a chat with for an advide?

regards

Happy to be corrected, but I wouldn't have thought that ELISA was a suitable method for this?

IIRC there would potentially be options for gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, or spectroscopy.

This may be useful reading for you: https://ec.europa.eu...0-0237 0300.pdf

If you're members of Campden I'd give them a call first - may not be the cheapest if you actually have to use them for testing, but IME they're usually happy to talk through various analytical approaches.

Otherwise any of the big lab groups are probably also worth a call to see what they can do.

Hi Qualified,

Eurofins US website suggests they can test for BHA

https://www.eurofins...nd-antioxidant/

I emailed a UK contact yesterday and they have confirmed that UK labs can also test for it.

If you are interested you can contact them here:

https://www.eurofins...s-enquiry-form/

Or email the UK customer services:

UK07_CustomerServucesUk@eurofins.co.uk
