Has anyone else been seeing Cashews 320 from Vietnam pretty ugly? I have had to reject 3 different shipments because the cahsews still have some skin on them and black spots on the cashews.

If youve seen this whats going on? No one seems to know whats going on. These are to also be a fancy grade.

Food Fraud comes to mind.

Viet is the top exporter for Cashews with the US and China being the #1 and #2 importers of the nut.

China appears willing to pay more for the nuts - this is what I have heard in my interactions with folks in the nut biz.

Seconds, such as cashews with moisture spots (black and other colors) and skin on getting shipped as fancys.

Some Viet suppliers are shipping sub-grades and nuts that should have been disposed of, used for oil, are going to the US market and others.

It's an econmic gain thing - thus Food Fraud.

Im also told that we have been the only person to complain with these 3 different suppliers which we find also odd.

Two things - sounds like you may buy thru a broker - considering there is only 1 person to complain to?

What FSVP do you have for the suppliers or from the broker for the suppliers?

Since the FSVP is adminstered by the FDA, you know that one of the first things they are going to ask about will be your FSVP data.
