hi

we are just newbie in SQF/ GSFI  world and this is my first ever project for SQF certification of our bakery ... our suppliers are BRC audited and are approved suppliers for our flour mix and ingredients ... now my confusion about the testing and samplings is that do we need to re test all the raw material batches ?? and our finished product from each batch ?? we are small scale industry if we need to set a on site lab or what kind ? or we should contact the other labs for the sampling and testing? how often this is required? against what all microbes or specifications  the products to be tested for ??

all the information and any sample documents regarding this are most welcomed and appreciated

please and thank you

You are not required under SQF to establish an on-site laboratory.

Also, need to state specific standard codes please.

I'm sorry I did not see that you posted this under lab - since you mentioned SQF, that is why I responded, you should post this under SQF.

I think the textbook answer is you need to respond to the requirements in the Standard and, ideally, in the Guidance.

Have you studied the Standard yet ?

For example, perhaps see the appropriate/equivalent Food clause to that in the Packaging thread currently adjacent to this one -

Hi,

No you do not need to retest all the raw material batches and all the finished product batches but you can take samples and send them for testing periodically. You can send the samples for testing to accredited laboratories . You should send the samples according to the intervals required by the standard. The microbes to  be tested for are those microbes that are inherent to your products.

Hope I have helped.

Regards,

Faith.
