The IFSQN annual Food Safety Live online conference will be held later this year and we are currently in the process of gathering ideas for topics for the 2-day event.

Previous Food Safety Live events have consisted of training webinars and roundtable debates with a wide variety of expert speakers and a range of food safety topics.

The links below are to the previous Food Safety Liver recordings.

Please let us know your thoughts.  Perhaps a topic that we or others have not covered previously, or a topic that gets asked a lot on the forums or something that you would like a refresher on.

All ideas and comments are welcome and helpful.

Many thanks,

Simon

Can you discuss the use of cleaning agents, sanitizers and disinfectants.  What are approved for usage in food establishments for conventional and organic use.  What are upcoming trends i.e. use of UV lights, ozone (gaseous and aqueous) etc. and how effective are they?  How has COVID-19 impacted the need for more effective sanitizers and disinfectants in the food industry?

If you could please cover Animal Food specifically for ingredients as it relates to Food Safety & Quality. We are seeing the Animal Food sector becoming just as regulated as human food but not a lot of training & presentations designed with this industry segment in mind. Another wish list item for this year would be to talk about FSVP requirements & best practices (Importers of Food Ingredients for Animal Food). My company is a large importer of food ingredients for animal food (large variety).

I always soak up whatever I can about improving food safety culture and creative/engaging training for employees.

I also vote for more animal food topics. FSMA hazard analysis, housekeeping (milling/dry environments), biosecurity/FAD are all hot topics right now.

The theme this year will be...what's new in food safety and quality. Emerging ideas, technologies, processes, tools, trends etc. We will try and incorporate the requests into the program. Thanks for you input.

Regards,
Simon

Hi Simon,

If I still can propose some topics, GFSI has launched his last benchmarking version. The two main topic they say they added are Food safety Culture (already present in BRC) and Food fraud (Which I thought it was already in...)

Maybe we can have a look into this ?

Food Safety Culture is definitely some new topic for lots of people, and most of them still don't understand requirements or how to practically do the things (and prove that its done). Some practical ideas could be very nice.

On food fraud, for example, There are some databases, I don't know if anyone ever conduct a comparison between those databases, or even listed thems somewhere.
