Hello. I hope someone can help me out. I make a non toxic wood finish using only beeswax and food grade mineral oil. I sell it on a small scale. I'm looking to expand. I need to know what is required to call the product "food safe". I know the ingredients are food safe. I make it in a very clean work area using GMP's. I already call it "non-toxic", can I call it "food safe" or does that require some type of certification? Thanks

I assume the target "wood" is going to be a food contact surface.

Hello. 

 

In my experience, I have struggled to find chemicals that are stated as 'Food Grade' and I have been told this is because companies do not want to pay for the certification required.

FYI, most food processors won't want wood, so you'll be looking at expanding into the residential market for the most part
