As a one site in a multi-site, SQF-certified company, is a manufacturing facility that receives products from its other facilities, which it then distributes, subject to an audit against the SQF Storage and Distribution code?  We are already audited under SQF Food Safety and Manufacturing code.

Note - What we distribute is similar to what we produce in our other facilities. No unique storage conditions required.

if the only thing your facility does is pass thru distribution than yes, separate certification would apply.

 

if the only thing your facility does is manufacturer with a small pass - thru amount, then no, you do not need the separate certification.

 

example - 2 of our clients;

 

client 1 - seafood processing facility, receives fish and cuts to order - this is 25 percent of their business, 75 percent is distribution for others as pass thru  - they opted for 2 certifications, mfg and storage and distribution.

 

client 2 - cake bakery, 75 percent production and 25 percent pass thru distribution - they have 1 cert for mfg.
