Hello everyone! Interested in y'alls thoughts on dressing PC cups in a cheese/veggie/etc. snack tray. Most PC cups seem to come with a foil or foil-lined lid, which would defeat the purpose of the metal detector. Is there a recommended way to get around this for process flow? For a MAP packaged item, for example - would it make sense to metal detect the assembled snack tray without the PC cup, apply PC cup after metal detection, and follow up immediately with modified atmosphere and sealing? Givens in this scenario would be sourcing the PC cups from an approved (GFSI audited) supplier, who would presumably have their own FM prevention programs. Outside of installing x-ray FM detection equipment or finding a pc cup that doesn't have a foil lid, is this the best way to approach? Appreciate any insight!
