Hello all. If a BRCGS Food Safety V8 certificated company wishes to include co-packing of its branded products in the scope of certification, does "co-packing of....." have to be stated in the scope as shown on the approval certificate? TIA

Hi there!

As part of the supplier approval section of BRC, you should check that the products you purchase are within the BRC scope on the certificate of the company you purchase from, if relying on their BRC accreditation for supplier approval (completely acceptable). Likewise this should be in place from your customers side to you.

I would not think that "co-packing of" needs to be on the certificate in this instance, as long as the products you are co-packing are included within the scope of your accreditation. However, it never hurts to give your Certification Body a call to clarify :)
