Hello all,
We have a peculiar problem in our factory. Our high care facility is away from entrance which means workers who work in high care needs wearing low risk coats in the main changing room and walk until they reach high care changing room where they change into high care clothing.
This means usage of low risk laundry will be only for transfer to and from high care changing room.
We are thinking to issue some storage options for low risk clothing to be kept in main changing area and staff can use them for a week before they go for washing.

Any suggestions or pictures on how to store them and advise if anyone experienced any like this before. Also if we issue toggle bags to store low risk, how can we ensure the bags are cleaned at regular basis? Any help is appreciated

I am thinking of issuing some kind of bags for all employees to store their low risk jackets and hang for a week. do we need to prove the risk of contamination as low storing in jackets for a week?.

You will definitely need to do a risk assesment.

What is the risk of cross-contamination of these ''week-use'' jackets versus the regular low care jackets? Do they touch each other?
Are employee's willing to wear a ''week-use'' jacket?
Do you have enough low care clothes for all employee's to have a ''week-use'' set?
Can employee's tell their ''own'' jacket apart from others? Otherwise some other hygiene issues could come into play (what is someone has lice).
 

Regarding the wash frequency: there are cleaning companies that put (bar)codes into your clothes. This way they have data on how often pieces are washed. 

If an employee's clothes is not being washed for a long time, you know it is time to investigate.

 

I have had a similar lay-out for a plant. And we just used to in-company wash all low care clothes daily.
