Hi All,

Do you know of a thermometer(wireless) that I can use inside baking ovens to monitor the internal and external temperature of food?

Thanks,

Hi Hilda,

I provided a link for a product that can be found on Amazon. I use this product when smoking / cooking on the grill and house oven. Its a great thermometer, spot on with temperature reading and can take the heat. This product also has Bluetooth where in your case, you can send it through inside of your product while your on the outside of the oven viewing the temp from your smartphone.. Hope this helps..

Hi noahchris,

Thks. I guess the suitability will depend on the unknown product. Presumably cakes would need something smalller. I seem to remember a previous baking thread discussing miniature wireless options.

@ Hilda - So what is the Product ?

Thanks noahchris,

I just ordered and  received this thermometer and I will try it tomorrow .But our baking operator says that he tried this thermometer before and  it didn't work for the cakes .It was giving them false alerts.

I will check it tomorrow,I hope it works this time

You need to use a MOLE.

Its temperature probes and software are specifically designed for the baking industry and constantly records the temperature throughout the whole bake. You might even be able to get a company like AIB to run it for you as well, they do provide a free downloadable kill step calculator as well.

We purchased a data logger from Fluke a couple of years ago.  The whole package included the MultiPaq21 data logger with 6 channels, thermal barrier, reporting software, and several different types of temperature probes.  It can perform multiple reps thru the oven without downloading and the thermal barrier it is inside of can go straight from the oven into a forced air freezer.  Cannot do a Nitrogen freezer unfortunately.  Great system with alot of optional types of probes including humidity.  Can also get one that is bluetooth capable so you don't have to actually connect to a pc to download.  Can even watch the data collection realtime as it goes through the oven.  But be warned of sticker shock.  We spent a little over $14K for the package we selected. However it has done everything we could have needed.  About to use it to validate a new linear oven that is being installed later this year to replace our old rotisserie style oven.
