Our company is looking to hire a few various QA personnel and managers for plants across the USA. Anyone care to share the recruitment source they’ve had the best luck with? So far our VP FSQA has been utilizing word of mouth with his contacts and a couple of the cheaper job websites. He’s hesitant to list on Monster and similar due to costs and the inevitable flood of unqualified persons who may apply.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Depending on the location of your facility, a large "Hiring for QA Department" sign out front could help to get local applicants interested. I'm assuming you have the job posted on your company website?

But if your company has multiple plants across the US...you may be big enough that a listing on indeed/monster is inevitable. Your HR department should be doing a lot of the initial work in vetting applicants with a severe lack of qualifications. From there the QA team could schedule interviews with applicants pushed up through HR.

You could try LinkedIn. I still look on indeed. Not sure what the younger generation uses. Depending on the skill level needed - colleges will post jobs as well.

There is a website called Careers in Food and I believe you can also post jobs here.

I am not from US.
But when I look for job openings I use mostly linkedin. ''Traditional'' job websites (indeed, monster etc. etc.) don't look appealing to me.
Or I just start answering the phone for any of the recruiters that try to call weekly.

I do think that if you are a larger company it is best to use a paid service. QA personell is hard to come by.
There are also contract types where you pay a % for any new hire, and not for candidates. So recruiter may work a little harder to get you qualified candidates.

What does your company do and where are your plants located?  I'm not rooted to where I'm at.

Feel free to shoot me a pm, I'd be happy to discuss a few details out of public view.

Thanks everyone for the responses.  We're a little light on the corporate side of our company, and our HR dept is more keyed for handling our internal needs vs helping the individual plants on their job hunting.  Historically, the plants had been maintaining their management teams, so our VP FSQA getting involved in this recruitment drive is new territory for us.
