Hello Awesome people.

 

Can you please let me know what the requirements are for an SCS audit?

What do we need? What will actually be audited? Will giving an SQF cert get you out of it? Does being a category 1 facility get you out of it?

 

 

• Category 1 – Lower Risk: Facilities located in Category 1 countries will not be required to complete an audit on a regular schedule. Rather, each year Walmart will select a sample of facilities to receive an audit. Any facility in a Category 1 country may be selected as part of this annual sample.

 

 

Does it mean that we have to be audited by either Walmart or a third party but we just won't have be audited every year? This is what I understand.

Or does it mean that our facility doesn't have to get audited until Walmart chooses our facility because it is a category 1?

They are going have an initial audit in your facility even if you have SQF certified. 

Since you're included in the Category 1 facilities, they will not include you in their regular auditing facility list, but you may be get selected for that when they randomly select a facility each year in that particular country you are situated in.  Simply, your facility is prone to have a surprise audit in any year.
