Dear all,

Hereby we need your assistance related to recyclable code for packaging.

We produce metal can containers for food. There is customer requirement related to recyclable code for packaging and the code for steel is 40 (Fe). The requirement should be stated as "All substances are recyclable with code 40.

Our question, is recyclable code should be authorized by certification bodies? or it can be self-declared by the metal packaging manufacturer?

I don't think it will be the certification body that authorises the recycle code, maybe they do check that the correct code is used in the correct manner, but I think the relevant governmental or industry body are the ones who set the standards.
