sorry, does anyone have a form for testing magnets as per the 4.10.4.1 requirement?

the basic requirement is that the magnet is checked to ensure that it is still in good condition and has not lost strength.  

 

this is done by visually inspecting the magnet and then checking its strength with a gauss meter or pull strength tester.  magnets that fall below the required strength would need to be replaced.   

 

 

I have attached a simple form for how you might document the check.

The last time I was involved in testing magnets in an active production situation, we tested each magnet with a Gauss meter on a regular 1-2 month schedule (can't rememeber the exact schedule). Magnets were regularly cleaned to get rid of the metal pieces by the production crew.

 

The Gauss meter was subject to regular calibration by the supplier of the device.
